Quadcopter FPV 250 propeller guard and landing gear for 6030 / 5030
thingiverse
I am completely enthralled with the quadcopter, and therefore purchased myself a FPV 250 as a result. As someone new to this world, I did not initially think about just how fragile the carbon props are in comparison to my current level of skill ... Lesson learned, so I created this propeller guard in the hope that it will safeguard the next set of props I purchase. UPDATE 20150420-1200: I have now added landing gears which can be securely fastened using cable ties or 3mm screws, thus giving the battery ample space below. Additionally, I have modified the guards to accommodate these landing gears and they can both be screwed in place. Both components may be used separately but will work together most effectively. UPDATE: Following the installation of these guards and new 5030 props, I was successfully able to take flight. Thankfully, no negative impact on flying behavior resulted. This version is specifically designed for carbon arms that have a height of 3mm; a drill hole large enough to accept a 3mm screw is provided, positioned exactly 30mm from the middle of the motor. Motor clearance allows for a width of up to 28mm while arm thickness remains at 24.2mm. I intend to make it adaptable and provide an openSCAD version once I feel confident in its overall quality.
