Quadcopter F450 Arm Shortened
thingiverse
UPDATE 2/23/2017 The arms are redesigned for carbon fiber rod reinforcement. Purchase 5mm OD rod, cut it into 118 mm lengths and prepare for use. This remix aims to rebuild the Cheerson CX-20 quadcopter with a F450 style frame featuring shorter arms. Using Tinkercad, I removed the center of the arm and reassembled it, eliminating excess plastic down the center. A hump running almost end to end was also present in the original file. When the original STL file is found on Thingiverse, credit will be given where due. Printing in PLA with 4 shells and 40% infill yields optimal results. If purchasing a F450 kit from Ebay, use these arms but add M3 inserts with a M3 screw and insert using a soldering iron to melt the plastic and press in the insert.
