Quadcopter "Crossfire Mini" for Small Printers (15x15)
cults3d
I'm a huge fan of MikeyB's incredible work on designing an open source quadcopter frame, but I had to adapt it to fit my Printrbot LC, which has a build platform that measures only 15x15cm. So, I shrunk his design and came up with the "Crossfire Mini" - this is what you'll find here: just the modified files. For the rest of the parts, more images, recommendations for electronic components, and instructions, be sure to check out MikeyB's original quadcopter design. I made some changes to make it work on my printer: The arms of this copter are 4.5cm shorter than the original ones (printed diagonally), giving me a prop-to-prop distance of only 39.5cm along the diagonal (instead of about 48cm). It's still just enough for 9" props at most. I moved the top plate to hold the receiver, as the holder I used exceeded my print volume - now it's centered and cut off, with a separate part that screws together using the same screws from the original design. If you modify it to fit your Rx perfectly, it will hold it snugly without any zip ties or glue. This design currently doesn't have a direct camera mount or holes for bushings to add the "Vibration Dampening Camera Mount" designed by MikeyB - but if you want to use FPV, just add them as needed. I directly modified the meshes of MikeyB's original design and only uploaded these modified files. For the original SketchUp files, see the original Crossfire. If you're not a fan of landing gears on the arm ends, check out my Landing Gears for Crossfire - it works with both this mini version and the original Crossfire.
