QUADCOPTER BODY
thingiverse
First prototype of my Quad copter body is complete. It has two separate compartments, one lower for the Lipo battery, which should easily hold two 3000mah's with access holes at the front and back for power cables. The upper section houses all electronics including slotted holes for flight controller and power distribution board and slots for Velcro straps to securely hold the battery in place. Measuring 475mm diagonally, it fits 28x25mm motors perfectly. Arms and body are held together with M3 nuts and bolts so no glue is required. Found out on Thursday night that gluing a 3D printed quad together isn't the best idea - weight is irrelevant. This should print flawlessly; starting to print it now, changes will be made if necessary. The lids for the two compartments will be done later today or this week. A newer design will definitely be created when time permits, with significant weight reduction and a sleeker appearance. Additionally, some feet will be uploaded that attach directly to the motor mount bolts.
