My First Quad Creation on My Hephestos Prusa i3 I've just completed my first quad creation using my trusty Hephestos Prusa i3. To minimize motor vibrations, I employed four bumpers made of Filaflex, carefully positioning them to ensure optimal performance. The distance between motors is an impressive 30.5cm. This project is still a work in progress, but I'm excited about the potential. One of my primary goals was to reduce the number of screws required for assembly, particularly when it comes to building the landing gear. To achieve this, I selected materials that would provide both structural integrity and flexibility. For the build, I used PLA white/black and Filaflex white/orange, with a total weight of approximately 500 grams ready-to-fly (RTF). Update: I've added an adapter plate to install a KK board on the base frame. This innovative design incorporates both PLA and Filaflex, providing a rigid structure and a smooth surface. To further enhance stability, I built a small cam flexible support using Filaflex. With this addition, I believe I can eliminate the need for landing gear altogether. Update: On May 1st, I experimented with carbon wire from ColorFabb XT-CF20 and was pleased with the results. You can see the outcome in the pictures section. Next, I added props protection and a Sunnysky 2204S 2300Kv motor, paired with 6x3 propellers. The protected props eliminated the need for landing gear. Update: On May 29th, I conducted my first video test, which can be viewed on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CCYs_XBx3Q&feature=em-upload_owner. Subsequently, I replaced the 6x3 propellers with 5x3 units. This modification not only improved performance but also reduced weight. Update: To further enhance protection, I added a KK board shield on June 3rd. Finally, on June 11th, I incorporated a Tx video support to improve reception quality.
