Revamp your QU-BD RXL 3-D printer's Z-stop positioning and adjustment with this new arrangement. Get lower-resolution STL files that lie flat in the X/Y plane, making slicing and printing easier. The homing repeatability of your RXL printer may have been poor due to frame corner flex, and tight z-end-stop switch placement behind the front right pillar. To resolve this, relocate the z-stop near the Z-axis stability point and use an adjustable screw to trigger it. This modification provides perfect z-homing every time, compared to a 20% first-layer success rate previously. To implement this change, remove the existing microswitch and reposition it adjacent to the right-side z-screw. Use longer wires to connect the switch in its new location. Anchor the wiring with cable ties for stability. Assemble the printed parts using 12mm flat-head M2 machine screws and a 30mm M3 screw to activate the switch. Two STL versions are provided to adjust the screw positioning as needed. Level the bed by backing out the M3 screw a few millimeters, heating the head and bed, seating the extruder on the x-carriage, and touching the tip of the nozzle to the bed. Slowly tighten the M3 screw until the switch clicks. Adjust the position of the parts as needed. Lower the bed 10mm and home the z-axis, ensuring the print head rests just above the bed without rotation. Repeat this process at each corner of the bed, adjusting the height with screws inserted in the bed frame if necessary. This design replaces and improves the original homing system on your RXL printer but requires relocating and resoldering the microswitch, done at your own risk. The modifications may significantly enhance the reliability and quality of your prints.
