QU-BD Bowden X Carriage for E3D V6 w/ X Endstop
thingiverse
This modified X-carriage is inspired by Tony_921's design, incorporating a metal holder for added stability. Three key changes have been made to enhance its functionality. Firstly, the bearing holders were shifted slightly to the right, providing an additional 5-10mm of print space on the x-axis depending on the parts used in the right gantry. This modification increased printing time by approximately 3.5 hours at a speed of 20mm/s but yields substantial benefits for those seeking maximum print volume. Secondly, the belt grip and metal holder holes were elevated significantly. This adjustment ensures optimal belt tension when using Tony_921's narrow right gantry design. By moving the metal holder upwards, it not only increases Z-axis build space but also enables the use of a z endstop mod (available on Thingiverse as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2201664) without requiring an adjuster. Lastly, the X-axis endstop mount was integrated directly into the carriage itself, facilitating easy addition of an x endstop with a bracket and adjuster.
