No additional supports are required, just ensure that you use a suitable plastic material such as ABS or Tritan, especially when exposing it to sunlight and heat. Avoid using PLA at all costs. I've been using the one in the photos for over a year now and it works flawlessly. Adding some soft tape to the extremities can help achieve a perfect fit.
