Holder for a 4010 style fan to replace the noisy 3010 motherboard fan. Does not occupy more space, cover can be closed.Buy a 4010 style fan (like this one)Slice and print the included holder (xsmart3_4010fan.slt)Turn off the printer, place on the side, remove the bottom coverLocate the mainboard fan, disconnect, unscrew (with the holder) and removeScrew in the new holder using the same holes and screws. It only fits one waySnap in the 4010 fan into the holder, with side blower towards the board, and the intake away from the printerConnect 4010 fan to the same VIN1 connector as the default fan. Tuck the fan cable behind other cablesPut back the bottom coverEnjoy the silence!P.S. Alternatively, you can connect it to the empty FAN1 connector if you don't want it to be always on, but since is is very quiet I recommend leaving it on. If you decide to do it, here is the procedure:Open Device (Klipper) page in QIDISlicer, Configuration tab and edit printer.cfgFind where fan2 is defined and comment out the whole sectionbelow it, write a new section by entering the line “[controller_fan myfan]” and add “pin: PA8” below it. This way, we are replacing the original definition of this FAN1 connector to be a controller fan, which is by default only on when printer is doing something. To avoid errors before printing due to slicer generating M106 P2 commands referencing fan2, the easiest approach is to find section [gcode_macro M106] and replace the first IF statement with “{% if params.P is defined and params.P|int!=2 %}”. This way, we are filtering out references to fan2.
