Qidi X-Plus & X-Max Carriage BMG Extruder on Metal Bracket - Dragon or V6 Hot-End Mod
thingiverse
Remix of Chad Wills' excellent Qidi X-Max, X-Plus BMG & V6 or Dragon carriage & top plate. This remix removes the plastic motor bracket and allows installation of an aluminium bracket made to common dimensions. Requires supports only below the ribbon cable guide area. You will need to carefully cut the rear two holes in the bracket (as pictured in photographs) to create slots; these are to accomodate the original fixing points on the bottom carriage so you do not have to re-print this - maintains compatibility with original top plates. Two brass heat-set inserts (same type as the rest of the mod) will be required for the front two mounting holes. You'll also need two extra 20mm M3 cap or button head machine bolts to take account of increased thickness at this end. Finally, you'll need to use the original BMG mounting screws rather than the 40mm ones called for in the mod, since the aluminium bracket is narrower than the plastic mount and the longer screws will not fit.
