Qidi X-Max 3 Filament Holder\Just added new file for spool holder options. See end of text for details. This is a quick design I created for the Qidi X-Max 3 to eliminate the need to access the back of the machine for loading filament. I have included two paths for the filament, one direct and one through the filament run-out sensor. It is very easy on the Qidi X-Max 3 to permanently turn off the run-out sensor on the load screen, it is the button just beneath the Unload button. My first Qidi didn’t have a run-out sensor and I had no issues without one. This design required drilling two holes in the back of the lifting hole on the left side of the machine.Parts Required2 each - M5x20 Button Head Screws1 Piece of 4mm Teflon Tube at least 36” long. (I switched to white so I can see the filament in the tube.)2 each – “PC4-01 NPT” 4MM Push Fittings or Alternate, see below.Note on push fittings. I used “PC4-01 NPT” fittings because I had them, The PC4-M10 fitting should work also but I have not tested them. If you want more info on fitting this site is the best I have found, open the site and go the the “Selecting Fittings” tab: https://www.captubes.com/index.html#aboutInstructions: Print out the drilling jig and the spool holder. Verify that the drilling jig and spool holder have the same center to center distance on the two mounting holes. Next, making sure the carriage is out of the way, place the jig in the hand hole and drill one of the clearance holes using a 5mm or 13/64” drill bit. Place one of the button head screws in the jig with a 5mm nut if possible and use that to fix the position of the jig and then drill the second hole. Mount the spool holder assembly to the X-Max 3 with the two button head screws (no washers). Verify that the button head screws have clearance by manually sliding the print head Carriage front and back across the area where the mounting screws are.Install the two fittings in the back of the filament holder with the “Push” part facing the back of the machine. Remove the existing Teflon tube from the print head to the run-out sensor and replace it with a new LONGER (should be about 36”) piece of tube from the top hole of the filament holder to the print head, making sure you use the correct back hole and tube support of the current tubing path. There should be a loose curve going into the print head when the print head is at the farthest distance from the back of the machine. Install a second piece of tubing from the bottom hole of the new filament holder to the bottom hole of the run-out sensor.Turn off your filament sensor on the screen if you are using the direct route.Remove the factory filament roll holder from the back of the machine if you so desire. To use the run-out sensor, just simply remove the direct path Teflon tube from the spool end and plug it into the top of the run-out sensor. Added option for creality spool holder, or if you do not have one you can print one at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4664196
