QIDI X-Max (2022) Extruder Carriage Mounted Dial Indicator Holder

<p>The <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/59205-qidi-x-max-carriage-mounted-dial-indicator-holder">Carriage Mounted Dial Indicator Holder for the Qidi X-Max</a> is an excellent design by <a href="https://www.printables.com/social/48305-humebeam/about">humebeam</a>. It can be used with the original carriage by Qidi. Only the cover, ribbon cable, two screws for the extruder and the extruder itself have to be removed.</p><p>But Qidi changed the design of the carriage slightly and it was not possible to correctly screw the holder in place. A cylinder of material (10mm diameter, 3mm height) had to be removed on the bottom of the screw holes.</p><p>The original design was also not perfect for my Ruthex M3x5.7 threaded inserts. They were now changed to a straight pipe with a diameter of 4.1mm - which ends up as 4.0mm on the final print. If it still doesn't fit your requirements then please open up the FreeCAD document (compatible with realthunder's fork from 2022-04-30) and open the sketch under qidi-xmax-extruder-carriage-dial-indicator-holder-threaded-inserts -> helper objects -> screw_in_block -> Pad screw_in_block -> sk screw_in_block. Otherwise it becomes unnecessary hard to remove the support material. Using support interface can also help to get better print results for the overhangs.</p><p> </p>
