QIdi Tech Preventive Measure
thingiverse
I absolutely adore my Qidi Tech printer, still the top performer among the three 3D printers I regularly use. However, after a solid 2.5 years of service, a glitch suddenly appeared, prompting me to embark on a journey of discovery that led me to uncover a seemingly common issue with the 2017 models of Qidi printers. The Qidi team is indeed helpful, but their troubleshooting approach can be a bit frustrating, as they often provide solutions in numerical order via email until we finally find the one that works. To cut to the chase, I managed to identify and resolve the problem on my own, but not before discovering that wire fatigue to the motor was likely the root cause of the issue - a connection-breakage that wasn't explicitly mentioned in Qidi's troubleshooting guides. This clever little invention is a strain relief for the X-axis motor wires, which I've installed in my Qidi printer to prevent or at least delay this probable failure. Perhaps it can be beneficial to your Qidi printer as well. Oh, and one more thing - don't forget to print this design using ABS plastic; the X-motor tends to get warm, causing PLA to soften and potentially leading to a mess.
