Qidi Tech Build Platform Jog Z-Axis Brace / Rest / Scrape Platform Tool
thingiverse
This platform comes into play when jogging the Z-Axis down onto something solid, a specific lightweight base in this case. It's useful for easing stress on the Z-Axis rods during servicing or scraping the print bed, allowing you to apply more force without causing damage to machine parts. I previously used a block of wood but wanted a lighter alternative that serves this purpose specifically. This will work with the Flashforge Creator Pro as well and an updated 148mm version has been added for Qidi machines with upgraded specifications. Print Settings Printer: QIDI Tech Rafts: No Supports: It doesn't matter Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30% Notes: The parts were printed in ABS with 3 shell layers, 7 top and bottom layers. I used 30% infill and a layer height of 0.2mm, feel free to adjust them to your preferred settings. Minor supports were printed due to default settings but you may be able to print without them. Post-Printing Lower the print-bed slowly on the Z-Axis while monitoring from the side until you see the rails touch the bottom of the platform slots slightly and then it should be securely in place. The print-bed needs to be almost level when braced and not over-stress the Z-Axis support rods. Be mindful of your wingnuts and print-bed heater wiring when lowering the Z-Axis onto the slots. Leaving it in there while printing is untested but likely to work since when the print-bed reaches its lowest Z-Axis home point, there's still space between the bottom of the print-bed rails and the slots.
