Qidi Tech 1 Cable Cover / Protector
prusaprinters

I wanted to remix this cover as the original design kept popping out when the wires pulled upwards (build plate returning to the home position for example).

This design incorporates a lip at the bottom and as such is best printed in TPE / TPU to allow a bit of flexibility to fit. Once installed its a snug fit an going nowhere :)

The internals & capping section (that allows the wires to pass through) does not now require any supports also due to the chamfering. Just a small amount of support advisable for the perimeter to ensure the lip is nice and accurate.

Will share my basic settings in the section below as had a lot of trouble printing with TPE until these were dialled in...now printing very well :)

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.25

Infill:

15%

Filament: Technology Center TPE Black

Notes:

4x Top & Bottom solid layers,
3x Outline Perimeters,
Temps: 70degC Bed, 220degC Nozzle

Print Speed: 70mm/s

I used a single brim layer at 0.4mm offset which peeled away nicely.

Category: 3D Printer Accessories
