QIDI Hood / Cover Retainer Clips
thingiverse
This simple clip keeps the rear panel of the QIDI Tech 1, 3D printer securely in place without obstructing the movement of the extruders. Without some sort of restraint, the wings of the rear panel tend to push inward and interfere with the printers' mechanical components. Fortunately, these clips don't make it any more difficult to put on or remove the hood/cover. To secure them firmly in place, I used 3M heavy-duty mother-in-law tape underneath the top rear area of the printer (see photos), where they hold very well indeed. I printed these clips using PLA material with a resolution of .2mm and three layers for shell construction, along with three layers for both the top and bottom surfaces, 30% infill, and no raft. Supports were used in conjunction with a 5mm brim to ensure successful printing. Additionally, I set the cooling fan to turn on after the first layer had been completed. It only took one hour and fifteen minutes to print two clips at the same time using FlashPrint software on my QIDI Tech 1 printer.
