Qidi Door Latch Rounded
thingiverse
This is a remix of www.thingiverse.com/thing:1598280 by micahstevens. I rounded off the end of his design. It's a door latch for the front door of the QIDI printer. Place one under each end of the handle on the front door, and the magnets will keep the door shut. Print Settings Printer: QIDI Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 50% Notes: Printed in PLA with 3 top, 3 bottom, and 3 outside layers Post-Printing Assembly Install 6mm diameter x 1.5mm thick X 2 per latch. Press them in, then glue them. I got the magnets at http://www.ebay.com/itm/251471137493 for $7/100 with free shipping. After the magnets are in place a little glue can help them stay there. I've had fun using “Bondic”. It's a high viscosity, UV-activated instant catalytic cure cyanoacrylate. A few drops from the oiler like pen the glue comes in, then flip the pen around and zap it with the UV LED light, wait 10 seconds, and you're good to go. Not the cheapest, but pretty cool for glue. Here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301662153693 Unscrew the door handle's two mounting screws and re-use them to hold the latch assy's in place. Re-assemble the door handle with the latches and you're done. How I Designed This Tweaks If you want to modify this design, it's on Tinkercad at: https://tinkercad.com/things/h2lI5ci37vj
