Qi Wireless Charger for Nexus 5 and 4 (and others)

This wireless charger fits the Qi charging circuit available from Adafruit Industries (https://www.adafruit.com/products/2162) and is sized for a Nexus 5 and 4 and should work well for other phones that support wireless charging too. The charging shelf is covered in fabric that is securely held in place by a ring on the outside shelf edge. Parts needed: One 100mm x 150mm piece of thin fabric Two 3mm nuts Two 3mm x 15mm screws One Adafruit Qi charging circuit linked above I made a minor adjustment to the shelf, widening the wire gap to account for different soldering on different Adafruit boards. The previous design worked but might have required a small plastic trim which is no longer necessary. Instructions 1) Print Wireless Charger Shelf.stl. 2) Be prepared with two 3mm nuts and then print Wireless Charger Base Bottom.stl. 3) Print Wireless Charger Base Top.stl when ready, pausing on the first layer to insert the two 3mm nuts into place as shown in the attached photo. 4) Insert the charging coil into the square recess of the shelf, then place the fabric on top and snap the outer ring securely into position. Use an adhesive to keep it in place if needed. 5) Cut holes in the fabric for the two aligning pins on the shelf, making sure they fit snugly in place. 6) Press the shelf into the base bottom, securing the charging circuit board into place. 7) Feed the two 3mm x 15mm cap screws up through the base and into the holes on the circuit board. 8) Place the base top securely over the base, tightening the 2 cap screws firmly in place. 9) For extra cushioning, consider placing a soft material like electrical or Kapton tape underneath. 10) Enjoy wireless charging.
