Qhapiya - Peru

Qhapiya sits majestically south of Lake Titicaca in Peru. Carefully crafted with SRTM2STL using cutting-edge data from the Space Shuttle's orbiting presence. I recently uploaded an improved STL file to further emphasize the mountain ranges' rugged grandeur, as my initial prints lacked visual punch when rendered on a larger scale. To aid fellow enthusiasts in replicating these files, I have made the source code freely available on github under the flexible GNU license; simply visit the site and conduct a search for SRTM2STL. Best results are often achieved by printing this map at a relatively modest size, as larger models can suffer from PLA warping. While some experimenters have reported partial success with large-scale Raised Relief Maps, others continue to seek more effective ways to mitigate these distortions. If you have discovered techniques to control warping, your chances of successful prints are significantly improved.
