QAV250 Xiaomi Yi Action camera mount
thingiverse
I made this to mount my new Xiaomi Yi action cam to my QAV250 with precision engineering. It comes with a pair of silicone vibration insulators from Lumenier's Vibration Damping Camera Plate, available at http://www.getfpv.com/multi-rotor-frames/qav250-mini-fpv-quad/qav250-cf-vibration-damping-camera-plate.html I screwed my insulators into the first and second set of standoffs, ensuring a secure mount on any QAV250. To accommodate quads without these insulators, I designed it to bolt directly to the standoffs with adjustable-length screws. Despite not personally trying this method, I'm open to feedback if there are issues with hole size or spacing. This would enable me to adjust the design and provide an optimal fit for various quads. To enhance usability, I created a sturdy base that can be secured using adhesive-backed Velcro on the bottom of the camera itself. A narrow slot beneath allows a wide Velcro strap (~14.4mm) or even zip ties as alternatives to securely attach your gear. Updated design edit on 4/20/15: To fine-tune stability and efficiency, I relocated the camera slightly forward while refining the mounting holes' size and position. Now it easily bolts onto any quad's first and second standoffs without significant cleaning-up efforts. These updates save ~1 gram (dependent on settings), ensuring maximum weight optimization and streamlined assembly process using CURA screenshots. Remaining images illustrate previous v3 iterations.
