QAV250 Shoulder reinforcement plate for broken arm
thingiverse
This shoulder reinforcement plate fits perfectly over the front posts of a Lumenier QAV250 frame, where it's secured in place by CA glue and extra support from zip ties. The plate provides essential reinforcement for this notoriously weak section of the frame. A 50% fill rate with PLA yielded a surprisingly sturdy prototype that balances weight with strength (just over 10 grams). Despite being a V1 test design, this prototype already looks like a promising starting point for reinforcing the arms and body joint area. It fits perfectly without requiring any modifications or adjustments, giving it a big advantage as an emergency repair solution. As an interim measure, simply slipping on the top plate is insufficient - two plates are needed to ensure maximum support at both the top and bottom of this crucial frame section. We expect this design will improve significantly in its second iteration (V2), but until then, consider using it in conjunction with printed copies from Hover.ly, available for a budget-friendly price at http://hover.ly/collections/qav250/products/qav250-shoulder-plate-repair-the-broken-arms-on-your-lumenier-racing-quad.
