QAV-M 114 Micro Quad Gremlin Frame
thingiverse
This remix was done with two objectives in mind: - Printable with Taulman Alloy 910 for an indestructible frame. - Use the all original Emax BabyHawk parts (camera, motors and the femto flight controller which has the usb connector facing backwards). The base plate was completely redesigned since alloy 910 is too flexible for a thin flat frame. The width of the arms was reduced to the width of the 6A bullet esc's to improve airflow and the length was increased by 2mm in order to have a bit more clearance between the T2345BN props and the frame. The diameter of the motor mounts was also reduced. Finally some kind of truss structure was added to stiffen the frame. There is also a base plate for standard 1104 motors. An extra cutout was added to the top plate to accommodate the babyhawk vtx antenna. The camera mount is made of two different parts, left and right. Print one of each. The femto mount together with the 4mm spacers allows for easy access to the usb port from the back. If you don't care or have a femto fc with usb on the side, you could just stick your fc straight to the base plate and save a few grams. If you want to use the femto mount, you will have to resolder your esc's from bottom to top to the top of your femto fc. For the FrSky xm+ receiver mount, you need a 2.5mm tie wrap cut to 57mm length. Snap the xm+ in the mount, insert the tie wrap and secure the antennas with heatshrink. If you want to stick your receiver to the base plate just print four x 20mm spacers. If your receiver is too big and doesn't fit between the spacers, print the vertical receiver mount and two x 20mm spacers. Parts needed to assemble the frame: - Eight x M3 30mm nylon screw, cut to length with exacto knife, 25-26mm - Eight x M3 nylon nut Optional parts for the femto mount: - Four x M3 10mm nylon screw or use your 30mm screws and cut to length - Four x M3 nylon nut The camera mount, the femto mount and the receiver mounts should be compatible with bromego's original QAV-M 110. Step file with all parts is also provided. Now that you have an indestructible quad there is only one thing left to do, push your limits! Update 1: Added a base plate for standard 1306 motors with 2.3" props. Update 2: Added a base plate for standard 1306 motors with 3" props.
