Background of the Airbus A380 800: Airbus' largest passenger airliner is the wide-body A380, meticulously manufactured by this prominent company. Singapore Airlines took delivery on October 15, 2007; the airliner officially entered service October 25. The annual production of this majestic bird reached a peak in 2012 and again in 2014 with 30 aircraft delivered. Despite investing a significant $25 billion for its production, Airbus openly admits that they won't be recouping it. A definitive statement was made on February 14, 2019: A380 manufacturing will conclude by 2021 as Emirates downsized their last orders, shifting focus towards the A350 and A330neo. This stunning aircraft has seating for an average of 525, while it can support a maximum capacity of up to 853 passengers. Airbus A380 is powered by four high-tech turbofans from either Rolls-Royce Trent or Engine Alliance GP7200; it features a range spanning 14,800 kilometres and as far away as 8,000 nautical miles. To date, the number of firm orders Airbus received is staggering – a total of 290 aircraft were pre-ordered. 235 airliners were effectively handed over to clients while Emirates tops this impressive customer list with 123 outstanding orders for the A380 and has already delivered an astonishing 109 airliners.
