In Quake 3 Arena, Lucy, a playable character, is an adversarial Tier 4 warrior in singleplayer mode. Armed with the Rocket Launcher and BFG10K, she once served as a prison guard before crossing lines that led to her life-threatening incarceration. Her father taught her shooting skills; the rest of her abilities are self-taught through improvisation. A prison break incident where Lucy used excessive force against escapees and unpopular guards resulted in her mysterious demise.
