In mathematics, the theorem known as Pythagoras' relation—or simply the Pythagorean theorem—is a fundamental concept in Euclidean geometry that links the three sides of a right-angled triangle. It asserts that the square of the hypotenuse (the side directly opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.
