Pythagorean goblet
thingiverse
Hi, my name is Ziga and this is my very first published 3D model. The Pythagorean goblet is a simple-looking cup with an exciting twist to it. I decided to create this model because I wasn't satisfied with other prints online. Some had a tendency to break after printing, others had poorly designed siphons that didn't work, and some were made so you couldn't really prank anyone with them because the position of the siphon was too obvious. I hope my design will help avoid these problems entirely. I appreciate all feedback for improving my cup. Have lots of fun with it. The story behind the Pythagorean cup is quite interesting. Pythagoras, a well-known ancient mathematician, hosted a dinner for his students. The table was filled with plenty of food and wine. Wine was poured into cups similar to mine. The students sat down, and the feast began. However, Pythagoras didn't want his students to get drunk, so he came up with a clever idea - designing cups that would drain completely if too much liquid was poured into them. His plan succeeded, and these special cups were served at the dinner. Many of the students wanted to pour more wine into their cups, but instead of getting it in their mouths, they got it all over their pants. They wondered why this happened - now you can discover the answer for yourself.
