Pyrochlor lattice
thingiverse
The pyrochlore crystal structure, a periodic phenomenon in solid state physics, is defined by a network of corner-sharing tetrahedra. Within these crystal systems, ions occupy the corners of tetrahedra and engage in magnetic exchange with one another (consult https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spin_ice for further information). A subset of tetrahedra has been carved from this lattice to form an intricate tetrahedron on its own. The printing process proved challenging due to numerous overhangs and bridges present, but was ultimately achieved using PLA with layer thicknesses of approximately 0.2mm.
