Presenting...\r\n--------------------------------\r\n\r\nThe Pyr0-Piezo Z-Axis Sensor\r\n===================\r\n\r\n-----\r\n\r\n\r\n**What's this all about?**\r\n--------------------\r\n\r\nThis design boasts two significant enhancements: \r\n1. A Super-Sensitive Z-Axis sensor leveraging the mechanical force of the nozzle touching the bed, providing a direct measurement without any offsets or assumptions to worry about\r\n2. (Optional) An FFC Cable chain [(Flat Flexible Cable)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexible_flat_cable) that can carry the entire print-head's signals and current in a neat and organized way\r\n\r\n**Why is this better than other sensors?**\r\n - Vs. Inductive / capacitative sensors: No Offset, more accurate, no need for special surface\r\n - Vs. Mechanical touch (BL-Touch, servo mounted endstops): No Offset, more accurate\r\n - Vs. removable pressure sensor: More accurate, no need to attach a device just for leveling\r\n - Optical rangefinder / Time of Flight: Much more accurate, doesn't require specific surface\r\n - Vs. Mechanical endstops: All the benefits\r\n - Vs [PrecisionPiezoUK](https://www.precisionpiezo.co.uk/resources-osh) version: No potentiometer calibration required, better false-signal filtering\r\n\r\n\r\nFeatures:\r\n - Self-calibrating (no more fiddling with tiny potentiometers!)\r\n - Extremely precise z-height measurements\r\n - Zero offset (The nozzle itself is the sensor!)\r\n - Compatible with all surface types\r\n - No plugging in removable sensors for leveling\r\n - FFC Cable chain for a clean connection between print head and controller\r\n - Onboard switchable DC buck converter for 12v or 5v fan operation\r\n - LED Feedback on all PWM components\r\n - Standalone version available for easy drop-in installation\r\n\r\nCredit must be given to precisionpiezo.co.uk for inspiring this project and providing a great starting point. I built a version of the FFC cable chain based on their electrical designs, but found the calibration of the circuit to be quite tricky due to the narrow range of acceptable potentiometer values.\r\n\r\nI've since started from scratch using my own BOM and designs, incorporating an onboard microcontroller for auto-calibration. Given that every 3D printer is unique, I aimed to create a sensor as easy and stable as others available on the market, but with the increased performance of a piezo sensor.\r\n\r\nThis page may be updated less frequently than the github project, so for the latest information, files, and models, make sure to check there first:\r\n\r\nhttps://github.com/pyr0ball/pyr0piezo\r\n\r\n**[Discord Channel for support and discussion](https://discordapp.com/widget?id=544587989536473099&theme=dark)**\r\n--------------------------------\r\n\r\nLegacy links:\r\n[Original Mount (Doesn't work as well as I'd like)](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2712439)\r\n[Original Mount v1 (Doesnt work at all)](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2675788)\r\n[Original Piezo + FFC board](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2618717)
