Pygmy goat skull

Lucy Treado, a Virginia Commonwealth University alumnae, generously loaned this pygmy goat skull to the Virtual Curation Laboratory to enhance our digital zooarchaeological collection. According to Lucy, "The goat skull was a gift from my friend Douglas Stanfill, who owned a farmstead where Coco the goat lived. Her sire and dame were both kiko fainter crosses, which likely passed on the recessive fainting gene that probably led to her demise at the jaws of unknown predators, possibly coyotes."
