This holder supports a 1.5-inch PVC pipe. I designed it for my own dry box, and it's extremely sturdy, so you can fill your dry box with 2kg spools without worry. ### Features - Most plastic bins have a draft (the walls are "tilted" outward), so the mounting face has a 3.25° offset to counteract this. - Designed for bolt/nut fasteners, with room for oversized washers. This way, the mounting force is distributed over as much area as possible on the flimsy plastic bin. - Extended walls make it easy to lift up the pipe to access spools, but the pipe will never "hop" out of the holder. - Takes up minimum possible horizontal space, in case the holder has to fit in a "groove" in the bin's walls. - Fully customizable FreeCAD model included (and STEP format too!). ### Notes - My particular PVC tube had an outer diameter of 1.65 inches, so that's what the model is optimized for. However, between the bowl and slanted side walls, the design can accommodate both slightly larger and much smaller pipes. - The walls are very thick! I probably could have gotten away with thinner features without making it too weak. ### Required Hardware (complete dry box) - 2x PVC pipe holder - 1x plastic bin - 1x ~1.5-inch tube, cut to length - 4x 5/16" x 1" bolt (longer is okay, but will stick out of the box) - 4x 5/16" nut (nylock recommended) - 8x 5/16" washer (max OD = 1.25") You also need a way to get the filament out of the dry box—I recommend an M12 cable gland & long PTFE tube. Also silica gel and a humidity sensor, but that's all out of scope. ### Instructions Print two holders. Hold up one holder where you want to mount it, and mark both holes on the bin. Drill both holes with a 5/16" bit. Repeat on other side (make sure they are aligned!). Fasten one holder to each side with washers on both sides.
