PVC Pipe Curtain Holder
thingiverse
I was tasked with crafting a curtain for a window that's notoriously hard to access and hasn't had a curtain in place, ever. As soon as I began designing the holders, I realized the walls were made of brick, which meant I'd need to figure out a way to screw in the PVC holders without actually going into the brick itself. Taking stock of the room, I noticed that the ceiling features a wooden beam extending down from it, so I reworked my design to accommodate screws going up instead. However, as I continued to refine the pieces, I encountered numerous issues with the PVC pipe fitting too tightly or loosely - a major problem given our limited resources and time constraints. We were aiming for a curtain that would remain closed permanently due to these circumstances. When we attempted to install the components in the wall, the screws ended up splitting them in half, effectively halting our progress and preventing us from hanging the curtain up at all. This experience has taught me that crafting even something as simple as a curtain holder involves far more intricacies than I initially anticipated - like fashioning a single piece to join two poles together and figuring out how they'll connect to the wall in the first place.
