PVC Mount - Thrustmaster T.16000M HOTAS FCS
thingiverse
The folks at Thrustmaster gave me a pair of M6 bolts on the bottom of their HOTAS joystick and throttle combination. This is a big step up from the HOTAS X which was decent but had no way to attach it to anything. This thing is a simple pair of mounts for attaching the joystick and throttle to my own 1.5" schedule 40 PVC frame. The small model is for the joystick, the large model is for the throttle. The secondary arms on the joystick could probably be a little bigger, but it's very stable once attached to the PVC so I'm not sure there's any benefit. I've not modified the OpenSCAD file from the design I printed and photographed. You will need 2x M6-1.0 bolts per piece (4 total) which are available at Lowes. The joystick can take up to 30mm length, and the throttle can take up to 20mm length, but I used M6x16mm hex head non-hardened bolts. The design can be adapted to other PVC diameters just by changing the OD measurements pvc_od_a and pvc_od_b to the proper taper. Print Settings: Printer: C-Bot Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.24mm layer height Infill: 30% cubic (or 15% rectilinear) Notes: Adjust the WALL variable to be a multiple of your extrusion width, so that you end up with 2 full perimeters per edge (4 printed extrusions to make the center cylinder wall). Layer height is not important, up to 0.4mm is fine. There are no overhangs so it can be printed right up. I used Protoparadigm Ruby Red PLA (1.75mm), 2 perimeters, 2 bottom solid layers, 4 top solid layers. Filament use was 97g. I did 30% 3D cubic infill from the Prusa version of Slic3r, although my normal 15% rectilinear infill would have been fine now that I see it printed.
