PVC Drum Agitator for Harbor Freight Dual Drum Rock Tumbler - Remix for smaller drum
thingiverse
I've taken ian99rt's agitator tube design and given it a remix for use with my 9" Harbor Freight rock tumbler, converting it to more efficient and replaceable PVC drum usage on a single drum harbor freight tumbler that measures about 4.75" in length. To optimize the design, I made some minor tweaks such as reducing the agitator rings to just two, which helped reduce strain on the motor and resulted in more consistent rotation. I printed this remix in PLA+ since I was out of PETG at the time, but after a week of use, the PLA seems to be holding up incredibly well. The base print is adjusted to about 3" long, which is just longer than needed for cutting PVC tubes that are 4.66" long, taking into account the depth of the temp locking endcap piece and leaving a slight lip on the temp locking endcap that isn't touching until tightened down. This effectively locks the agitator in place without gluing it, allowing for easy removal and cleaning or changing out to a superior filament later if desired. Since I printed mine on its side to print vertically, I used supports which came off easily except in the cutouts. The brim was no longer necessary after that.
