PVC downtube carrier For Bubble Bucket
thingiverse
I crafted this assembly to eliminate the aluminum extrusions in the bubble bucket design, utilizing a readily available resource - 1.5" PVC pipe. Print two identical pieces, and this PVC clamp will snugly fit around the lip of a standard 5-gallon bucket from Lowe's or Home Depot and securely fasten to a vertical PVC pipe with 1/4-20 bolts, suspending the bubble belt assembly. A simple slot cut into the vertical PVC pipe accommodates the bubble bucket gear at the bottom, while the drive motor is mounted on top. Modeled in inches for easy scaling up by 25.4 I made some updates to this design: I added a motor mount with a radius that fits perfectly around the PVC downtube. Additionally, I updated the drive and idler gears with chamfers to prevent chain walking and jamming issues, significantly improving its reliability. I also corrected the motor drive gear hole by making it larger (.26" to be exact) and re-centering it to fit my shaft coupler.
