PVC Backdrop joints
pinshape
These joints comprise a portable backdrop I created for a friend's wedding ceremony. To create this backdrop, you'll need 1" PVC pipes, Ikea curtains, and a light curtain. It turned out extremely well. However, I printed it in PLA material, and I highly recommend using ABS - perhaps my Solidoodle is the issue, but this pushes the strength limits of PLA. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Solidoodle Printer: Solidoodle 4 Rafts: Not Necessary Supports: Yes Resolution: .3mm Infill: 30% Notes: I printed 9 perimeters and in retrospect, should have increased the print speed to improve layer adhesion. If you can print with ABS material, do it - but make sure to fine tune the joints a bit. They are designed to fit tightly on the PVC pipe, so small fractions of a millimeter make a significant difference. Post-Printing: A couple of the joints need to be assembled with epoxy adhesive. The parts are labeled as Joint A and Joint A002.
