PVC Backdrop joints
thingiverse
These joints form a portable backdrop I built for a friend's wedding. To create it, you'll need 1" PVC pipe, Ikea curtains and a light curtain. It turned out really well, despite being printed in PLA - I recommend using ABS instead, as it may just be my Solidoodle, but this pushes the strength limits of PLA. Print Settings Printer Brand: Solidoodle Printer: Solidoodle 4 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .3mm Infill: 30% Notes: I printed nine perimeters and, in hindsight, should have increased the print speed to enhance layer adhesion. If you can print with ABS, do so - but make sure to fine-tune the joints slightly. They're designed to fit snugly onto the PVC pipe, so tiny variations of a millimeter make a significant difference. Post-Printing A few of the joints require assembly with epoxy. The parts are labeled as Joint A and Joint A.002.
