PVC Art Shelf Brackets

These parts fit snugly onto a 1 1/4-inch PVC pipe and a sturdy wood crossbar. To secure the artwork in place, I employed an L-shaped trim piece that creates a front lip. The "brace" component provides a small back lip to prevent items from sliding backwards. Each side of the wood crossbeam boasts two points of support, tightening up the square shape. The screws used for the PVC are 2.5-inch #10-32 machine screws. For the screws passing through the wood and the spacer with PVC, I utilized 2-inch #10-32 screws. The holes through the wood and PVC part required 1-inch #10-32 screws. I opted for wing nuts on all components for effortless assembly and disassembly. If you don't have access to a drill press to drill straight through both sides simultaneously, follow this method using a handheld drill: To align them properly, place the PVC on top of the pipe at the desired height, then drill your hole. Next, insert a screw into the hole to hold it in place and lay it flat with one side facing down against the edge of a table. Place the template on the flat side to mark the second hole at the same angle. Drill your hole, secure it with a 1-inch screw, flip it over, and mark the hole on the opposite side. Finally, drill through to complete a straight hole.
