Putty Knife Protector
thingiverse
Looking for a better tool for removing prints from the 3D printer, I considered a medium-sized flexible putty knife that had been sharpened might be perfect if used with a bevel-down approach. So, I bought a 1 1/4" Warner putty knife and ground a bevel on one side. It works wonderfully on non-tape surfaces, but it's extremely sharp and I'm nervous about transporting it. Therefore, I thought I'd print a cover for it. This was designed in Onshape. You can copy and modify it here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/7b21ad6d859d2b624ab5fa53/w/863b1850d8ae58bb6da0c443/e/e4779f5be0a5e9d26795164a My Monoprice Mini Delta printer tends to print undersized (I think it doesn't take PLA shrinkage into account in the firmware), so I adjusted in the design. Consequently, you may need to increase the size by 2-3%. This friction fits onto the tip of the knife perfectly. The print in the pictures is a bit rough but this was a test print and it's functional.
