A cherubic figure known as a putto is often depicted in art as a chubby male child, typically nude and sometimes equipped with wings. Putti are frequently misidentified with cherubim, yet they remain unrelated entities. When referring to the plural form "the Cherubim," it specifically denotes biblical angels boasting four distinct faces and several pairs of wings; these beings are traditionally classified as the second order of angels. Putti embody a secular spirit, representing non-religious passion. During the Baroque period in art, putto came to symbolize God's omnipresence. Triton, a mythological Greek deity, serves as the messenger of the sea. He is the offspring of Poseidon and Amphitrite, god and goddess of the sea respectively, and functions as his father's herald. Typically, Triton is depicted as a merman, possessing the upper body of a human and the tail of a fish, with his shoulders adorned in sea-shells according to Ovid.
