Putto with drum, mask and garland of flowers
myminifactory
The artwork depicts a traditional baroque putto - a robust boy typically nude, embodying God's omnipresence (akin to cherubs) - grasping a drum, a mask and an assortment of flowers tied together as a garland. Andreas Schlüter (1659-1714) was a prominent German sculptor associated with the baroque style. He resided in Poland, Berlin and Saint Petersburg during his lifetime. Due to multiple documented individuals sharing his name from around the time he was born, we cannot confirm his place of origin. Nonetheless, Schlüter created numerous sculptures and architectural facades throughout his career.
