Pushup Handle v1.1

Pushup Handle v1.1

thingiverse

A pushup handle inspired by not having enough grip in pushups. The width is based upon the breadth of my hands, which are about 4 inches wide at their broadest point. With the round brackets on each end of the top bar, it gives me approximately 3.5 inches of gripping space, which fits but could use a little more clearance for larger hands. If you have big hands, definitely scale up a bit. I need to finish printing the second handle before making any adjustments, but testing against just one handle, I'm confident they will hold my weight and are just barely wide enough for my hands. Additional notes: Print the handle portion with supports enabled. Update 1: I tested these this morning and found that they dig into my hands at the point where the upper ring that connects to the base. I am going to alter the design of the top handle portion so it's smooth. Unless you have small enough hands, I don't really recommend printing the current version because it won't fit comfortably on your hands. Update 2: I've revised and uploaded a new version of the circular handle, which is one large cylinder with notches just on the bottom side to correct the issue of the upper ring digging into the hands (handle-smoothtop). I'm in the process of testing it and will upload an image once I've printed a pair of the new handles. Caveat: The revised handles are about a half inch thicker because I didn't change the overall diameter of the point where the handle and base attach, which means the cylinder on the new handle is about 2 inches in diameter. Update 3: The revised handle works well (handle-smoothtop.stl). I'll be evaluating it over the next few days to decide if I want to make more modifications to perfect it. Printer Settings: Printer: DaVinci 1.0 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Infill: 30% Notes: After printing both pieces, remove supports and sand them until relatively smooth. The handle should fit onto the base with a pressure fit by pressing the groove onto the raised portion of the base (no glue was required on mine).
