Push Toy, Airplane
cults3d
It's Grandkids Week at Our House and I've Designed an Airplane Push Toy with Spinning Propeller. We're enjoying a fun-filled week of grandkids at our place, so I took on the challenge of creating a new toy to add to our collection. Building off my previous design for a butterfly push toy (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1027577), I came up with an airplane push plane that's sure to bring smiles to their faces. Our Makerbot Replicator 2 is working overtime, churning out these toys in a variety of colorful combinations. I'm thrilled to see the possibilities unfold as we experiment with different color schemes. Take a look at our prototype video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKn8SvAMDXQ. You'll get an idea of how this toy comes together and what makes it so much fun for kids. All parts are printed, except for the wide rubber bands that provide the necessary traction for easy pushing around. I'm impressed with how well they work in conjunction with the printed components. I designed this airplane push plane using Sketchup Make 2015 and printed it on a Makerbot Replicator 2 with Makerware 2.3.3.42 "Standard" Settings, which included a .2mm layer height, 2 shells, and 10% infill in PLA material.
