::UPDATE 05.2023:: Final version of the shifter is on my website: https://www.diy-sim.com/sim-projects/sim-gear/shifters/item/push-pull-rally-paddle-shifter-v2?category_id=32 Demo video of the changes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pCTXlbrqy0 Overview: Added two more versions of the sideplate which limit the shifter throw. Now the travel measured at paddle end is as follows: L - 15mm M - 12mm S - 9mm Also tested with several magnet what is the pull force needed for shift with different magnets. Here is how it relates corresponding to number of magnets per side: 1x 18x6mm magnet - 0.64kg / 6.3N 1x 18x6mm + 1x 15x4 magnets - 0.94kg / 9.2N 2x 18x6mm magnets - 1.1kg / ~11N For me best travel is the shortest. At 1.1KG pull force the PLA construction seems to be near it's limit. At mid point feels quite good to me, works very well, you have decent mechanical feel and very fast response. You can play around with magnets and figure out your preference. N.B.! - If you decide to use the S side plate version you will have to bend a little the Micro Switches arms - it is very short throw on switch side and they should be adjusted. It is a bit fiddly but works perfectly - no mis-shifts. Video instructions coming shortly. The limiting screw plates were modified to use brass nut inserts as well. This allows limiting screws to be properly tightened and not loosen over time. This adds much to shifter stability - now it has true Zero Play. ::End of Update:: Upgraded my Push-pull shifter design. Now it features bigger magnets, ball bearings and shorter throw. Finally it feels proper! Works very well, construction is quite stable and shifter itself is very small but pack a big punch.
