Push Pin Clip / Push Rivet / Retaining Clip (Nissan, Infiniti)

I created replacement parts for Infiniti "push pin clips" because I was unfamiliar with these clips and didn't know how to remove them, so I ended up tearing several when removing the under-hood cowl while replacing my battery. So, another chance to sketch something up! I used Fusion 360. The original clips in my car were nylon, but the current "official" part is made of a more brittle material. I recommend using nylon if you can do it. I printed my replacement parts with PETG and consider them single or maybe two-use, just like the new "official" clips. There are two versions of the retainer part of the clip: one with slots for easier bending of the tabs, and the other without slots. For nylon, use the one without slots. With PETG, you can use either version, but solid tabs are preferred. I printed them in black and white PETG, and one even looks gray due to changing filament. You can see the white and gray ones as installed in the included photo. These fasteners are also known as "Push Rivets." You can assemble the clip before installation by pushing the pin in until it clicks, or you can inset the retainer into the hole first, then insert the pin and push down flush. This retaining clip is sized for an 8mm hole and can accommodate 5mm depth. The flange is 20mm. I added a 16mm flange version for more flexibility with sizing and scaling. The Infiniti part number for my vehicle was 01553-09321, now superseded by 01553-2DR9A. This retaining clip is common in these vehicles and used in multiple locations.
