Push In Queen Cage
thingiverse
Push the cage firmly into place to introduce a new queen to the colony. Print the cap with supports touching the bed. One tool is designed for cutting finishing nails to use as spikes instead of printing them, and it works better this way. The nails that come standard with hive bodies paired with a small amount of CA glue work well together. Cut each nail to 26mm or about 1" in length. There should be approximately 10mm sticking out after gluing it into place. Tested on Ritecell plastic foundation, and it worked perfectly with the nails seated firmly at the bottom of the plastic. To maintain bee space over the top of the cage while keeping it pressed against the comb on the adjacent frame to prevent it from falling off, add some spacers. Secure them in place using a small amount of CA glue.
