Summary A clever dust filter for 3mm and smaller filaments is created using a push fitting that screws into the printed part with two wrenches. A small piece of fabric or sponge is inserted inside, followed by one hole for the filament. This setup is attached to a PTFE tube connected to the extruder's cold end, effectively collecting dust from the filament. Print Settings Printer: My custom 3D printer is utilized. Rafts: Yes, rafts are used to secure the print. Supports: No supports are needed for this print. Resolution: A high-resolution setting of 0.2mm is chosen. Infill: 20% infill density provides structural integrity without excess material. Notes: When importing the file into a slicing software like Cura, mirror the Z-axis so that the larger hole faces upwards, ensuring optimal printing results. Print Settings - Brim: A brim of 20 lines ensures a stable print foundation. Shell Thickness: A shell thickness of 1mm provides adequate strength and durability. Fill Bottom Top: A fill bottom top of 0.5mm allows for even infill distribution. Print Speed: A moderate print speed of 10mm/s balances quality and efficiency. Temp Ex: The extruder temperature is set to a optimal 260°C for smooth filament flow. Temp Bed: The bed temperature is set to a comfortable 100°C, ideal for most filaments. Filament Dia: The filament diameter is set to 2.9mm for precise printing results. Flow: A flow rate of 115% ensures proper extrusion and minimal oozing. Nozzle: A nozzle size of 0.5mm allows for high-resolution prints with fine details.
