Push button "cover" for tactile switch
thingiverse
For my latest electronics project, I required a distinctive and eye-catching push button that would be mounted within an enclosure, necessitating various color options for the button/rocker face. To meet these demands, I designed a custom button to work in conjunction with a cost-effective tactile switch mounted directly onto a PCB (Printed Circuit Board). Please refer to the attached use case drawing (PDF file) located in the "Things" section for further details on how this setup will be implemented. Utilizing an ordinary 6x6mm tactile switch with a total height of 7mm and a tactile force of 2.5Nm should result in smooth operation when the PCB is positioned at an offset of approximately 23mm from the outer surface of the enclosure. To accommodate this configuration, the drill hole for the button must be 19mm in diameter, featuring a small notch of about 2mm to ensure unidirectional orientation of the button's base component. A damper spring will be employed to compensate for any excessive travel distance exceeding what is allowed by the tactile switch (typically ranging from 1/4mm). It is highly recommended that you create a 3D model of the enclosure, push button, and electronics assembly to verify proper fit and alignment. Additionally, you can find a 3D model of the tactile switch within the "Thing Files" for further reference.
With this file you will be able to print Push button "cover" for tactile switch with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Push button "cover" for tactile switch.
