Pursa I3 8mm. Y-Axis Pulley Assembly A Much Needed Improvement.
pinshape
I've noticed that on the Y-Axis, the drive belt tends to ride to the left or right unless that little U joint is perfectly positioned. I'm not going to tolerate it anymore, and I'm calling out the designers for their thought process behind this design choice. It's time someone took responsibility for creating a more reliable system. That's why I've come up with a totally adjustable Y-Axis Assembly. The photos show my model just before its latest upgrade, but unfortunately, I couldn't print it yet due to a clogged head/nozzle issue. Once resolved, I'll update the pictures and share them with you. Take a look at these new improved Y-Axis assembly images in blue; File #3 proves that no washers are needed between the bearings and wall. I designed this using Design Spark Mechanical, a free CAD software that's extremely easy to learn and use - check it out at http://www.rs-online.com/designspark/electronics/eng/page/mechanical. Have a great day!
