Purple Tentacle
thingiverse
I was highly impressed with LeChuck42's http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10487 design that I began manually splitting the original STL file in Sketchup shortly after he shared it, to print in three different plastics. He later split the parts himself, providing two ways of creating a multicolor tentacle. To ensure proper fitting of the "suckers" on the body, I had to slice them and account for printing-related issues with smaller parts. The unibrow's hidden location makes support usage acceptable. The foot fits perfectly into the body's slightly recessed area, while the unibrow also has a slot on the body. For printing, use Fruit Punch Magenta (MBI) for the body with supports or the stand version, Nuclear Green (MBI) for the foot and split suckers, and black for the unibrow with support. After removing supports and sanding the bottom of the body (if using the stand-less version), glue the sucker parts, then the unibrow, and finally, the foot. Enjoy your completed tentacle!
