Purple Swamphen egg
sketchfab
This is one of many Australian native bird eggs my father, Henry George Landenberger, gathered as a young boy. Initially, I thought it was a Pied Butcherbird egg, but it's significantly larger than that (50×34 mm). Its size and pattern match those of the Purple Swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio) instead. None of the dozens of eggs in my collection are labeled, likely gathered in early 1930s.
